*Mission Statement* The Economic Development Council is a not-for-profit Illinois corporation. The EDC provides a forum for current economic and business development issues. Its goals include educating EDC members and the general public on issues, problems and programs affecting economic and business development and providing a network of contacts among people and organizations working on economic and business development. The EDC is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) not for profit organizatioin. The initial development of the website was underwritten by The Coleman Foundation.
