William A. Strauss is a Senior Economist and an Economic Advisor in the Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago. Joining the Bank in 1982, Bill's responsibilities now include analyzing the current performance of the Midwest economy and also of the manufacturing sector, which analysis is used in developing monetary policy. Bill also produces the monthly Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index and organizes the Federal Reserve Bank's Annual Economic Outlook Symposium and the Annual Auto Outlook Symposium. Bill conducts several economic workshops, industrial roundtables and speaks throughout the Midwest about the economy and specifically the manufacturing base. He has taught as an adjunct faculty members at both Loyola University of Chicago and Webster University of Chicago. He currently teaches at the University of Chicago Graham School of General Studies and at DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. He is past President of the Chicago Association of Business Economists and currently serves as a Board Member for the National Association for Business Economists and is a member of the Advisory Council for the University of Illinois at Chicago's Center for Economic Education. The luncheon is at noon, at The Tower Club, 39th floor, 20 North Wacker Drive, Chicago.
