The Chicago Architecture Foundation believes that architecture is the art form which most vividly expresses "what Chicago is and where it is going." The CAF is dedicated to advancing public interest and education in architecture and design. It does this through programs which include tours, exhibits, lectures, special events and adult and youth educational activities. All of its activities are designed to enhance awareness and appreciation of Chicago's outstanding architecture legacy and reflect the current trends in Chicago architecture. Lynn Osmond became President of the Chicago Architecture Foundation in 1996. Under her leadership, CAF was awarded the Chicago Community Trust's James Brown Community Service Award for the Most Outstanding Chicago Community Organization. Lynn herself was awarded the Paul Berger Arts Entrepreneurship Award, presented by Colombia College and was recognized as an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects. Prior to joining CAF, Lynn spent seventeen years running major performing arts companies in both Canada and the United States. Her experience includes the Sacramento Symphony, the Boston Philharmonic, the Canadian Stage Company in Toronto and Orchestra London Canada, among others. She is currently on the Board of the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association, the Central Area Committee, the Chicago Loop Alliance, University Club, Glessner House Museum, and Chairs the Toronto Sister City Committee. She is also a member of Planning and Urban Design Committee of the Metropolitan Planning Council. The luncheon is at noon, at The Tower Club, 39th floor, 20 North Wacker Drive, Chicago. The cost of the lunch and program is $35 for EDC members, $50 for non-members, and there is no charge for EDC Corporate and Sustaining members. Reservations are mandatory.
