Once a laboratory for so-called Goulash Communism under the Soviet Union, today Hungary is a remarkable success story with a burgeoning economy and per capita GDP of nearly $20,000 per year. More than $100 billion in Foreign Direct Investment has poured into Hungary in less than twenty years.

A member of the World Trade Organization, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), NATO and, since 2004, the European Union, Hungary is expected to join the European Monetary Union in the next 5-6 years. Recently, the EU named Budapest the site of the headquarters for the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.

Miklós Martin-Kovács brings a unique perspective to Hungary's development as a crown jewel in Eastern Europe. A graduate of the Budapest University of Economics, he has held several corporate management positions and has extensive experience in broadcast journalism.

Mr. Martin-Kovács' background includes: Founder, Editor in Chief and Anchor for the first Hungarian Business Radio Network; Managing Editor-in-Chief, Hungarian Public Radio; New York Correspondent & Bureau Chief, Hungarian Public Radio. In addition, he served as Vice President, PSINet Hungary, the second largest national ISP; founding CEO and Member of the Board, WEBIGEN Inc., a major Hungarian ISP, E-business and portal technology development company; and Member of the Board, Infostart Inc., the new media arm of the first privately held Hungarian news radio - Inforadio.
