DePaul with Chicago and the World" DePaul University has more than 24,300 students, offering more than 260 graduate and undergraduate programs. Its main campuses are in the Lincoln Park area on Chicago's north side, downtown in the Loop, as well as facilities near O'Hare, Naperville, Rolling Meadows and Oak Forest. DePaul boasts that it has over 86,000 alumni living in the Metropolitan area of Chicago alone. J.D. Bindenagel is Vice President for community, government and international affairs at DePaul University. As such he manages and develops governmental and international relationships that support DePaul University's mission to prepare students to influence and shape the world. He is responsible for deepening DePaul's local, global and government relations in Chicago, Illinois and worldwide. Ambassador Bindenagel brings to DePaul his extensive experience in government and international affairs. He served in the U.S. Army, the State Department and in the U.S. Embassies in the East and West, as well as unified Germany in various capacities from 1972 to 2003. As a former American ambassador and a 28-year veteran of the U.S. diplomatic corps, he was appointed in 1999 as U.S. Ambassador and Special Envoy for Holocaust issues and negotiated agreements on compensation for World War II-era forced labor, insurance, art and property restitution, as well as Holocaust educations, research and remembrance. He was U.S. Chargé d'Affaires and deputy chief of mission in the U. S. Embassy, Bonn, Germany, from 1994 to 1997 and director for Central European Affairs in the Bureau of European and Canadian Affairs at the State Department from 1992 to 1994. Bindenagel serves on the Board of the Chicago Civic Federation, the International Visitors Center of Chicago, the German-American Chamber of Commerce in the Midwest, the Grant Park Conservatory and many other local, national and international organizations. The luncheon is a noon, at the Tower Club, 39th floor, 20 North Wacker Drive, Chicago. The cost of the lunch and program is $35 for EDC members and $50 for non-members.
